Stowe Coal Index Committee

 
The Stowe Coal Index Committee maintains oversight over the ion process of companies to be included in the Stowe Coal IndexSM. The Index Committee convenes quarterly to nominate companies from around the world for inclusion in the Stowe Coal IndexSM and to review and approve additions, deletions and changes. The Members of the Index Committee are:

Gary L. Hunt, President, Global Energy Advisors

Gary Hunt has lead the strategic consulting and advisory services business unit of Global Energy Decisions since 2000.  He has 30+ years experience as a strategic energy consultant, utility executive and public utility regulator. Before joining Global Energy, he served Director of Electric Power at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA), and headed the Energy & Regional Economics Consulting Practice at Standard & Poor’s/DRI.   Gary was General Manager of Massachusetts Municipal Whole Electric Company (MMWEC), public power joint action agency serving municipal utilities throughout New England.  He also served as Assistant City Manager-Utilities & Finance in Austin, Texas, and Assistant General Manager-Operations at East Bay Municipal Utility district, Oakland, CA. Gary also served as a public utility regulator in two states as Deputy Minnesota State Public Service Director for two years and Chief of Staff at the Illinois Commerce Commission five years.  He holds a B.A. from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio and a Master’s degree from the University of Kansas.

Mike Keenan, Managing Member, Stowe Partners, LLC. 

Mike Keenan is a consulting geologist in private practice with 17 years experience in the natural resources field.  His expertise lies in the economic analysis of energy-related natural resources, including uranium, coal, oil, and natural gas, along with the precious and base metals.  In addition to private practice, he has served as a natural resources regulator at the State and local levels in California.  Mr. Keenan founded Stowe Partners, LLC in 2006 to provide natural resource-based investment consulting to the money management industry.  He is an active member of the Geological Society of America Coal Division and the American Geophysical Union.  He earned a B.Sc. in Geology and an MPA from the California State University System.

Joseph LaCorte, CFA, Managing Member, S-Network Global Indexes, LLC. 

Mr. LaCorte is presently a Managing Member of S-Network, a New York based consulting firm specializing in the development of indexes, quantitative asset management products and structured products, including exchange traded funds and over-the-counter derivatives. In the past five years, he served as a Managing Director of UBS, with responsibility for that firm’s global exchange traded fund (ETF) initiative. Prior to that, Mr. LaCorte served as managing member of S-Network LLC, where he maintained responsibility for key clients, including the American Stock Exchange, Deutsche Borse and State Street Bank & Trust. Mr. LaCorte was also a Managing Director of Deutsche Bank, responsible for that bank’s US index arbitrage and portfolio trading businesses. He worked as part of the management teams at both Nomura and Kidder Peabody in the similar capacities. While at each of these firms, their index arbitrage businesses were the largest in the United States.
