Fuel Tech, Inc. (Fuel Tech) is an integrated company that uses a suite of technologies to provide boiler optimization, efficiency improvement and air pollution reduction and control solutions to utility and industrial customers worldwide. Fuel Tech's focus is the worldwide marketing of its nitrogen oxide (NOx) reduction and FUEL CHEM processes. The NOx reduction technology segment, which includes the NOxOUT, NOxOUT CASCADE, NOxOUT ULTRA and NOxOUT-SCR processes, reduces NOx emissions in flue gas from boilers, incinerators, furnaces and other stationary combustion sources. The FUEL CHEM technology segment improves the efficiency, reliability and environmental status of combustion units by controlling slagging, fouling, corrosion, opacity, acid plume and loss on ignition, as well as the formation of sulfur trioxide, ammonium bisulfate, particulate matter (PM2.5), carbon dioxide and NOx through the addition of chemicals into the fuel or via TIFI Targeted In-Furnace Injection programs.
